Prime Big Deal Days 2026: which PC fits Omarchy?

Keep working hardware for $0 or compare the exact CPU, memory, camera, radio and suspend path before buying. Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Deal Days ended Oct. 7. Newegg’s announced sale window continues through Oct. 11; a lower price cannot establish an Omarchy result.

What must be checked on this exact unit?
  • Obtain exact current seller, ask, condition and delivery
  • Match panel subtype, radio and battery
  • Test installer boot, repeated lid and dock wake, Wi-Fi after sleep and Bluetooth audio within the return window
  • Price compatible laptop SODIMM and replacement SSD separately; desktop DDR5 kits are not substitutes

This is best suited to plugged or docked development and to buyers who value replaceable memory, an accessible SSD and much stronger compute than older ThinkPads. If buying, prefer the 100% sRGB low-power panel over the basic 45% NTSC panel and favor the NFA725A over the NCM825 based on the better results in this corpus. During the return period, test cold boot from your installer, repeated suspend and wake, Bluetooth audio, Wi-Fi after several sleep cycles and battery life under your actual workload.

Wireless — mixed results

The current exact-model ArchWiki lists Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as working, and several owners had working Wi-Fi. Other reports cover an NCM825 suspend blocker, a linux-firmware regression that removed Wi-Fi after reboot, severe speed drops and Bluetooth headsets that paired without an audio connection until a later kernel.

The NFA725A has the better record in this corpus, but neither Qualcomm path is issue-free. The firmware thread records that an upstream correction later landed, and the support project documents a module-reset workaround for post-suspend slowdown; both are version-sensitive results.

Camera — reported working

The current exact-model ArchWiki lists the webcam as working. An Arch owner used the camera and found its image substantially better than the camera in an older T480s.

Basic webcam output has direct Arch evidence. Check the exact configuration before buying because Lenovo also sold an infrared-equipped version and rare special-bid machines without a camera; no retained Omarchy report establishes infrared login.

Suspend Resume — mixed results

The largest issue cluster concerns s2idle, wake and hibernation. Reports include 27% loss in three hours, about 50% loss in two hours, ath12k blocking suspend, a blank internal display after wake, failed USB-C wake and repeatable hibernation freezes. Other owners report normal suspend or restored it with acpi.ec_no_wakeup=1 and, for hibernation, additional systemd and ACPI changes.

Working suspend exists, but it is configuration-sensitive and regressions have occurred. Test lid wake, AC connection, docked wake and overnight drain separately; a workaround that fixes one path does not establish the others.

External Displays — mixed results

One Arch owner used a Dell U4924DW as the primary display over USB-C, establishing working docked output. That owner could not wake the sleeping laptop by reconnecting USB-C, and a separate hibernation report found failures were more likely with a dock and external monitor attached.

USB-C display output can work while wake behavior remains unreliable. Docked buyers should test display, charging, cold start, s2idle wake and hibernation as separate functions.

Returns: Listing says return to any Target store within 30 days, clock tied to in-store purchase, delivery or pickup as applicable; full policy exceptions not revalidated

Warranty: Listing says one-year limited warranty; exact provider and serial-specific entitlement unverified

What must be checked on this exact unit?
  • Match full machine type and exact CPU
  • Check ordinary USB versus MIPI camera and panel option
  • Confirm seller warranty entitlement and acceptable return method
  • Test camera, overnight suspend, fingerprint after idle and repeated dock hotplug
  • 16GB is soldered; if measured work needs more, compare a separately matched higher-capacity machine

For the lowest-risk mobile configuration, favor a U-series processor, the 400-nit non-touch IPS panel, the ordinary USB camera and no WWAN unless cellular access is essential. Choose H-series for materially higher multicore and graphics capacity, not for better battery life or sustained workstation behavior. Existing owners should test the exact camera, overnight suspend, hibernation, fingerprint after idle, and repeated dock hotplug before moving their main environment.

Wireless — reported working

The 125U Quattro owner reports Wi-Fi working immediately, and ArchWiki lists the standard Intel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices as working. An Omarchy 4.0 cellular plugin was developed against the optional Quectel 5G modem, but that project is not counted as an owner report.

The standard Intel wireless path has the strongest evidence. Optional WWAN adds FCC-unlock, SIM, eSIM and suspend variables and should be treated as a separate configuration.

Camera — mixed results

The ordinary USB camera is reported working. The MIPI/IPU6 option produced video nodes without usable images through much of 2024 and 2025; later exact owners reached working video on mainline 6.19 and Arch 7.1.3, with firmware, quality and application caveats.

Camera type is a purchase-level distinction. Favor the ordinary USB camera for the simplest path; a detected MIPI sensor is not yet proof of a reliable browser and video-call experience.

Suspend Resume — mixed results

The current 125U owner reports normal sleep. A 125H owner documented a missing hibernation offset and then continued to see a kernel panic after correcting the boot configuration; the exact Arch hardware record exposes s2idle but not S3.

Ordinary suspend and hibernation are different promises. Test an overnight closed-lid interval and device recovery, and do not enable hibernation without confirming the generated resume parameters.

External Displays — mixed results

One exact owner built working automatic laptop, docked and dual-display layouts on Omarchy 3.1.0. Other exact owners report DisplayLink monitors that require reboot or relogin after hotplug, a Thunderbolt 5 dock that exposes only one of three screens on Arch and an Omarchy login loop tied to an explicit display mode.

Direct USB-C or HDMI and a conventional Thunderbolt dock have the better path. DisplayLink, multi-stream and explicit mode configurations need repeated plug, unplug, suspend and login tests.

Framework terms of sale · Framework limited warranty

What must be checked on this exact unit?
  • Recheck exact 128GB stock and shipment batch
  • Add required SSD and peripherals to total
  • Match BIOS, kernel and exact workload to retained reports
  • Test rear ports, PSU noise, intended monitors and repeated suspend within the return window
  • Do not transfer Framework Linux results to GMKtec, Minisforum or Beelink boxes sharing the processor

For a general workstation, the 64GB and 128GB versions have the same CPU, GPU and memory bandwidth; buy 128GB for model capacity, large virtual-machine sets or unusually memory-heavy work, not for higher frame rates. Existing owners should update to the current BIOS and kernel before debugging peripherals or ROCm. New buyers should use the return window to test power-supply noise, every rear port and repeated suspend with the intended peripherals; the one owner who failed those checks was offered a board swap, so that result is serious but not a family-wide verdict. If the Chromium hard lock recurs, increased BIOS graphics memory and software video decoding are owner-tested mitigations, not universal fixes. Buyers focused on CUDA, OptiX, maximum gaming value or a conventional GPU upgrade path should choose a different system.

Wireless — context only

Exact Omarchy Wi-Fi and Bluetooth outcomes remain unknown.

The official Arch guide displayed a hidden/no-published-release warning in the Oct. 5 read. Its release status and applicable package instructions are unverified. Do not treat it as an installation recommendation; test both radios on your exact configuration during the return period.

Suspend Resume — mixed results

One exact Omarchy owner reported that waking with the power button also delivered the power-key action after unlock, while keyboard wake was normal. A second 128GB owner reported that every sleep crashed or disabled peripherals across Omarchy, Fedora and Ubuntu and returned the unit after Framework offered a board swap. The broader Linux record ties some rear-USB resume failures to an upstream xHCI and GPU ordering race whose fix reached current Arch kernels.

Use a current kernel, then test wake by keyboard and power button plus every occupied rear USB port. A successful short suspend does not establish a heavily configured display and peripheral setup; repeated cross-distribution failure on one unit may justify hardware support rather than more operating-system changes.

External Displays — mixed results

An exact Arch owner recovered an Apple Studio Display installation path after firmware updates. On Omarchy 4.0.0, an exact three-monitor owner documented a screensaver focus race that prevents the normal idle and display-power sequence. Framework also continues to track intermittent USB-C Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode handshakes.

One or two conventional displays have the stronger baseline. Treat three-monitor idle behavior and USB-C display chains as separate acceptance tests, including sleep, wake and DPMS rather than initial picture alone.

Will this dock drive your two screens?

Trace the video path before pricing a dock. Two sockets do not establish two independently extended displays at the modes you need. Keep the exact laptop, dock, cable and Linux setup together.

Evidence needed before this becomes a buying shortlist

No verified two-screen route is selected yet.

Native video, DisplayLink and the limits of a dock's headline

VESA describes DisplayPort over compatible USB-C ports; USB-C connector shape alone is not evidence. For two extended screens, verify the host's display limit, the exact dock's simultaneous mode table, any MST/DSC requirements, cables and Linux results. A single-output 4K or 120Hz label cannot establish two concurrent outputs. Use a direct native output where it meets your need before adding a dock.

Plugable's UD-6950PDZ documentation distinguishes native DisplayPort Alt Mode from DisplayLink-driven output pairs and says it does not recommend its DisplayLink docks for Linux. This is a maker-specific support boundary, not proof that every DisplayLink setup fails. This worksheet does not clear DisplayLink listings for a Linux purchase.

Check your required arrangement, scaling, refresh rate, charging, suspend/wake and repeated hotplug during the return window. Hyprland's monitor-mode documentation explains configuration, not whether an untested dock supports your hardware. Official sources read . No dock price, Prime eligibility or new compatibility test is claimed.

Buy, upgrade or keep: match the exact Omarchy machine

Begin with the work you need to do and the machine you already own. Keep it if its limits do not block that work; price a repair or upgrade if one component is the constraint. Otherwise shortlist exact models that meet your required display, wireless, suspend, graphics and port needs. Compare the documented tradeoffs and unknowns, then decide whether to buy, wait for evidence, or keep what works. A deal badge cannot settle an untested capability.

If a listing names only a product family, find its exact generation and configuration before comparing it with a model guide. The guide separates direct Omarchy reports from Arch or other Linux reports and names capabilities the evidence does not cover. A nearby model name is not a compatibility result for the one in your cart.

  • For a current modular laptop, begin with the Framework Laptop 13 with AMD Ryzen AI 300 or the Ryzen 7040 model. They are different generations with different evidence. Match processor, display, wireless card and firmware before borrowing a reported result.
  • For a used business laptop, compare the ThinkPad T480 and X1 Carbon Gen 12 guides by the capabilities you need. A T480's battery and firmware condition and an X1's camera and suspend path matter more than a generic discount percentage.
  • For a used Intel Mac, read the cohort-specific installation guide first. Apple silicon follows a different Asahi-based path; a cheap M-series Mac is not an interchangeable Intel Omarchy machine.

The buying grades describe suitability for a stated use and dated price context, not a guarantee for every configuration. If a needed capability is untested, treat that as an open buying question. Favor a return window long enough to test installation, display, wireless, audio, suspend, docks and your own workload.

How to compare the offer you can actually receive
  1. Match the manufacturer's model and generation, processor, memory, storage, wireless card and any GPU option. Keep a screenshot or note of the exact listing.
  2. Record the seller, condition, item price, shipping, taxes, available stock and observation time. Our price tracker contains dated asking prices, not completed sales or guaranteed inventory. Old profile price links are research context until the merchant page is reread.
  3. Read the seller's warranty, return window and restocking terms. Marketplace and refurbished offers may have different coverage from the manufacturer or retailer's own stock.
  4. Compare the total against another obtainable configuration that satisfies the same Omarchy job. If the cheaper machine adds a known workaround or lacks a needed port, include that cost in the decision.
